<reviewbody>Some of the most smiling, happiest, prettiest cave people you ever want to see. A tale of how cave woman free themselves of slavery from cave men, and go on to form a community of their own. A good narrative film for its time.

I am thinking that this film was the underlying basis for the more recent Warner Bros. film "The Clan of the Cave Bear"(1985) starring Daryl Hannah. It is uncanny that some of the words in "Cave Bear" match those in this film. Some words which are equal are: Ayla, Eza, Broud, Gor-ra. These are names of people or things in the newer movie, and in Prehistoric Woman they denote more of an action type word.

One funny aspect of this movie is that of the time of fire discovery-- there are also already the inventions of ladders and rope!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Judging by the women in this entertainingly daft film, the female prehistoric diet was extremely healthy.

Beautifully photographed, with some first-rate special effects, it's well worth watching, if only as a curio.

Sci-fi or Horror? I think not. Rather, comedy. I detect the narrator's tongue firmly in his cheek.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I haven't downloaded it yet ... but this is the first time I've seen an MPEG1 file shown as larger than an MPEG2 file. Could the descriptions be reversed?</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>This is a 'battle of the sexes' movie set in a Hollywood vision of stone age Africa, as in "One Million Years BC" or "Quest For Fire." It tries to be light-hearted, dramatic and exciting, but comes off as a muddled comedy at best. I imagine the producers were hoping the movie would appeal to young couples: There are demure hints of romance and plenty of cheesecake. The narration is insipid, unnecessary and detracts from the movie. It's the worst part of the movie.

I downloaded the mpeg2. Dark scenes are sometimes too dark to make out what is happening and those scenes are heavily pixelated. Virtually all action scenes showed pixelation. The yellow color balance oscillates throughout the movie. I'm guessing the source movie was probably washed-out. The audio quality is good.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Believe me, MPEG1 version of 1.1GB is far better then MPEG2 version of 805MB. I downloaded both, but MPEG2 version is just waste of time. Audio is very quiet on both (better on MPEG2, but MPEG2 video is not good).</reviewbody>
